Stone statues known as Kissi, may surface as farmers manually hoe their fields.
They have been known to be a mediatior between the divine and the waking world.
This superb and highly characteristic example measures 3 inches in width by 10 inches in in height.
It does shows wear consistent with age. Comes on a specially designed, hand-made stand for display. it would make a fine collector’s piece for anyone involved in African art.
This stunning piece weighs 7 lbs (6.94) There is a hole near the navel. Believed to be there as they would pour precious metals into the hole for offering or spells.
